Topic: Maturing the essence in the dark
The Solar Term “Dàxuě” “Dàxuě” translates to strong snow. Strong snow emanates a profound silence. It gently settles on everything, muffling our steps that usually rush around quickly and actively. This solar term gives us a deep sense of joy. Snow falls lightly and effortlessly, covering everything gently. During the time of the “ip Dàxuě,” we connect with this tranquil sense of security and heart warmth.
Dàxuě is the third solar term of winter. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), there are various indications of what we can do best for our health of body, soul, and spirit.
As soon as the first snowflakes fall, you can see a sparkle and pure joy in the eyes of the children. In these moments, all worries and fears fall away, leaving only moments of happiness. For adults, a time of more coziness begins, where they gather in warmth and enjoy communal introspection.
Snow is something very beautiful. When we are inwardly peaceful and calm, we can better focus on our dreams and possibilities. The international practice supports all participants in finding orientation and seizing the opportunities that nature opens up in this phase. The inner alignment toward our goals also forms an important foundation for the upcoming spring. Before something new can sprout and grow, the seed must rest and let its essence mature in the dark.
During the solar term Dàxuě, we practice together to build strength. This energy helps us, for example, to ward off disturbing influences and provides the inner security that we particularly need during this time.

At ip, there is a strong connection that includes both heaven and earth and encompasses people. Together with Chinese students, we find joy in life and heart warmth.
On December 7th at 3 pm German time, a “tea-meeting” with our Chinese friends is scheduled to say “hello” and exchange experiences regarding the solar term Dàxuě. You are warmly welcome!
