冬至 (Dōngzhì) winter solstice

December, when so many significant events converge – Christmas, FuQi Day, and also the Solar Term Dōngzhì, 冬至. It is the 22nd Solar Term, the winter solstice. The shortest day begins – along with the longest night. From the winter solstice, the light grows day by day, Yang rises and increases again. Another cycle begins.
The time of Dōngzhì is also like a retrospective. Month after month, we have been able to intensely experience the Solar Terms. This year, we have witnessed how energy transitions from the visible to the invisible and from the invisible to the visible. These shared experiences are precious. We store this essence and collectively follow the good – allowing FuQi to flow further.

Dōngzhì is a good time to realign ourselves. We change, and even the international practice, ip, transforms and opens up. The winter solstice marks a clear point where Qi changes. When energy transforms, it is always an opportunity to move, whether to let go or start something new. At ip, we follow nature and begin anew.”
