The solarterm Jīngzhé, the quiet thunder, is like waking up before the alarm clock rings in the morning. We come out of the depths of the night, just as nature comes out of hibernation. Everything begins to move from within. The energy changes everywhere, the plants sprout from the ground, the insects awaken and a new movement arises in our cells.

The sounds of the insects are very quiet, like the voice of our heart. Do we feel the silent wake-up call of nature?

Sometimes this moment is only very small and inconspicuous – but if we follow the feeling, it can develop its full greatness. It points the way for the growth of the new cycle and we can use the energy to awaken spiritually.

Sometimes a small, new impulse is enough to open the door to something greater. An inspiration that can enlighten us and show us a new path. Many spiritual schools speak of the awakening of the spirit. In this moment of awakening, we enter the “other space” that Master Li speaks of. From this space we can see more clearly and realize our possibilities. We are then no longer dependent on our physical condition and our emotions.
