Topic: Keeping the clarity and joy of life in the cold

Information will follow in the next few days here and via newsletter.

On 02.10.2022 we will talk together with Master Dean Li, Daosheng and Yang in the DEAN Life Talk about this solar term. There will be information about the ip and you will have the opportunity to ask questions.

“Hán Lù”, 寒露, is the 17th solar term of the traditional Chinese lunar calendar. We are now in the middle of autumn and the weather is changing from cool to cold. “Hán Lù” translates as “the cold dew”. Nature is retreating further and further from the outside to the inside. Plants gather their energy in the roots and migratory birds gather in large flocks and fly south.

We humans harvest the last crop of the year at this time and prepare ourselves for the coming winter. The increasing cold clearly shows us the movement of nature, which is more and more changing into the energy of Yin. This means that we too naturally come into rest and the focus is on our unconscious. It is a time to cultivate the connection to our root and ancestors.

We sort out everything useless, gather all our good experiences in the root and come back to the essential. This keeps us clear.

When we recognise and store the good experiences, they are available to us and we build up our energy and can change our lives with them. This is like harvesting the ripe fruit from the fruit trees now and storing it in the cellar so that it serves us as a supply over the winter.

This solar term has to do with cold and clear.
Many people are immediately unhappy and unclear when the cold comes. Then problems are already there.
When it is so cold, how can the joy of life still remain and we are not unclear again?
Otherwise we are cold, chilly and weak inside, then unclear.
We absolutely have to remain clear.

“Hán Lù” is like a warning that we must be careful with the cold and protect ourselves with appropriate clothing and behaviour. But even more, we should be careful not to get cold inside and withdraw too much. Just because it is cold, we do not have to be dissatisfied and become heavy. In doing so, we weaken ourselves and cannot remain clear in the approaching winter. Therefore, we need the connection to the joy of life, which warms us like an inner fire and protects our spirit. This gives us a warm feeling and balances out the coldness of this season.

During “Hán Lù” we can connect with the clarity of nature, which is symbolised by the dew. In this way, we can easily and quickly find our way back to our spirit and the warm feeling of joy in life. If we store this well, we are clear and strong. In addition, at ip we follow the cycle of nature together with the Chinese students and thereby strengthen the connection between us, the world and the cosmos. Our energy stays in flow and we enter the dark season well prepared.
